Federal Immigration Agents Stage Near Dodger Stadium Following Championship Celebration

Dozens of federal immigration agents were observed staging in a parking lot adjacent to Dodger Stadium today, one day after the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated their World Series victory with fans.

Videos circulating on social media and obtained by reporters show agents in unmarked vehicles, wearing green vests and carrying white zip ties, positioned in parking lot 13, which borders the stadium property and the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center. Eyewitnesses estimate approximately 100 agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including a CBP tactical unit, were present. The agents departed the location shortly before 10 a.m. This event occurs amidst heightened national debate regarding immigration enforcement tactics.

This is not the first time federal agents have staged near Dodger Stadium. Five months prior, protests arose after agents attempted to enter the main parking lot and were subsequently relocated to a staging area near parking lot K, where a processing site was established following a nearby immigration raid. During that operation, a U.S. citizen reported being detained for hours and overhearing agents discussing the number of detentions. Concerns about potential civil rights violations and community impact led to a petition signed by over 50 Los Angeles community and religious leaders.

Following the earlier incident, the Dodgers pledged $1 million to support families affected by the raids and committed to further initiatives. At the time, team President Stan Kasten stated, “What’s happening in Los Angeles has reverberated among thousands upon thousands of people, and we have heard the calls for us to take a leading role on behalf of those affected…we will continue to support and uplift the communities of Greater Los Angeles.” You can find more information about ICE’s operations on their official website here, and learn about the Dodgers’ community initiatives on their team page.

Spokespeople for both the Dodgers organization and former stadium owner Frank McCourt have yet to issue a statement regarding today’s staging.
