“No Kings Day” Protests Planned Nationwide, Including Multiple Kentucky Rallies

Nationwide demonstrations dubbed “No Kings Day” are scheduled for today, October 18, 2025, with protesters planning to rally against President Donald Trump’s administration, recent actions by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement, and the ongoing federal government shutdown.

The protests, organized by the “No Kings” movement, mark the second large-scale demonstration following a similar event on June 14 that drew thousands to Louisville. Demonstrations are planned in numerous Kentucky cities, including Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Danville, Frankfort, Franklin, Hazard, Henderson, Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Morehead, Owensboro, Paducah, and Shelbyville. The movement’s core tenet, as stated on their website, is that “America has No Kings,” and they believe President Trump has reinforced this idea through recent policies.

Rallies will vary in time and duration. In Louisville, demonstrators will gather from 2 to 5 p.m. near the Belvedere, located at 141 N. Sixth St. Other Kentucky protest times include 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bowling Green and Franklin, 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Danville, and noon to 2 p.m. in Morehead. The protests come at a critical juncture as the White House and Congress continue to debate health care affordability and federal spending, issues central to the current government shutdown.

Organizers emphasize a commitment to nonviolence and are framing the protests around themes of democracy and resistance. Officials have not yet commented on the planned demonstrations, but law enforcement is expected to monitor the events to ensure public safety.
