Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham to Appear on ‘Good Morning America’

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America today, continuing her public profile despite a recent season-ending injury.

Cunningham, 29, arrived in New York City yesterday following travels through Florida and Arizona, and is scheduled to join hosts Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, and George Stephanopoulos around 8:30 a.m. ET. The WNBA star documented her journey on Instagram, sharing clips from her hotel and announcing the appearance. “It’s only going to be like three or four minutes, so if you blink, you’re going to miss me,” Cunningham said in a story post.

The appearance comes after Cunningham suffered a season-ending MCL tear in August, curtailing a promising season where she averaged 8.6 points and shot 43.2% from three-point range. Despite the injury, Cunningham has remained active, hosting her podcast, Show Me Something, and engaging with fans. Her leadership and defensive contributions were key to the Fever’s improved performance this season, particularly in guarding rookie Caitlin Clark.

With her current one-year deal expiring in February, Cunningham is expected to become a free agent, and her visibility on national television could influence her future opportunities. The Indiana Fever organization has stated they will monitor her recovery and assess their options during the offseason.

Cunningham’s representatives have indicated she will discuss her recovery, off-court activities, and future plans during her segment on Good Morning America.
