Kazakhstan Showcases Literary Works at Frankfurt Book Fair
Kazakhstan presented over 350 books at the 77th Frankfurt Book Fair, one of the world’s largest publishing events, yesterday, October 15.
More than 30 representatives from leading Kazakh publishing houses are participating in the exhibition, highlighting both modern trends in Kazakh literature and the work of emerging authors. This participation underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to expanding its cultural presence on the international stage and fostering collaboration with global partners.
A key presentation featured the monograph “Abai’s Words of Edification in the Perception of Generations,” translated into seven languages, which drew significant interest from attendees. Another featured work is Myrzhakyp Dulatov’s classic novel “Baqytsyz Zhamal” (“Unhappy Zhamal”), exploring the history and values of the Kazakh people. The Kazakh exhibit also hosted representatives from publishing companies in Azerbaijan, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom, who discussed potential joint projects. The Consul General of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt visited the national stand on the first day to express support for the Kazakh delegation. The Frankfurt Book Fair is a crucial platform for rights trading and international literary exchange, as detailed by the Frankfurt Book Fair’s official website.
