A young man connected to the renowned Belgian chocolatier Leonidas was tragically killed in a traffic accident in Greece, according to reports from Greek media outlets. Sotiris Baltas, 24, died after he and his girlfriend where struck while outside their vehicle in Loutsa, Attica, while he was visiting for a celebratory occasion. The incident casts a shadow over the Leonidas company, which has recently announced record financial results and continued expansion plans [[1]].

Sotiris Baltas, whose mother is related to the Leonidas family, was a master’s student living in Belgium and also worked at a Leonidas chocolate shop, according to reports from Greek media. He had traveled to Greece to attend his girlfriend’s graduation ceremony.

According to Zougla, Baltas and his girlfriend were struck while outside of their parked vehicle.

Leonidas chocolate has recently reported record results, with growth expected in France and the Netherlands in 2025.
