Southern Connecticut State Owls Announce 2025-2026 Men’s Basketball Schedule

The Southern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team unveiled its schedule for the 2025-2026 season today, October 13, 2025, aiming to build on a successful 17-11 campaign from the previous year.

The Owls will begin the season at the Bridgeport Crossover Tournament on November 14th and 16th, facing off against Post and Bridgeport respectively. Following the tournament, Southern will immediately jump into Northeast 10 Conference play with contests against Adelphi, American International, and Franklin Pierce. The non-conference portion of their schedule concludes in December with games against Caldwell, Felician, and Molloy. A strong showing in the NE10 is crucial for potential NCAA tournament bids.

Key players returning for the Owls include Cherif Diarra, the 2023-24 NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, and Isaac Hester, who started every game last season. Christian McClease, an All-Rookie Team honoree, also returns, alongside Elijah Wood and Makai Coleman. Kazell Stewart is expected to return to the court after missing last season due to injury. The Owls will kick off the New Year with a game against Mercy on January 2nd before resuming conference competition. Southern Connecticut State officials stated they are looking forward to a competitive season and encourage fans to support the team throughout the year.
