Meta Actively Hiring New Grads With Salaries Up To $290,000

Amidst a challenging job market for recent college graduates, Meta is aggressively recruiting entry-level talent, offering compensation packages ranging from $176,000 to $290,000 annually.

The technology giant currently lists openings for Full-stack Software Engineers and multiple Product Software Engineer positions, requiring only a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as computer science or engineering. Specific skillsets sought include proficiency in languages like PHP, Hack, C++, and Python, as well as experience with frameworks like React. These roles are based in Meta’s Washington and California offices and are not remote positions. This move comes as many tech companies are scaling back early-career hiring.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has emphasized the importance of demonstrated skill over traditional credentials, stating, “If people have shown that they can go deep and do one thing really well, then they’ve probably gained experience in the art of learning something and taking it to an excellent level, which is generally pretty applicable to other things,” according to a Bloomberg interview last year. However, the current openings still require a four-year degree. The demand for skilled tech workers remains high, even as automation impacts some roles – learn more about career outlooks from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Recent data indicates a significant decline in Gen Z representation within tech companies; a Pave study found the percentage of employees aged 21-25 has been cut in half since January 2023. Meta’s continued investment in new graduate programs signals a commitment to developing talent internally, a strategy the company has historically prioritized. Company officials stated they will continue to evaluate the talent landscape and adjust hiring strategies as needed.
