Panevėžys region authorities continue their search for a missing emergency medical worker after his vehicle was found abandoned in a rural area.

Officials confirmed the discovery of Mantas Sadauskas’ car on Tuesday morning near the village of Plukiai, not far from Gegužinė, following his disappearance on Monday. Sadauskas, a paramedic with the local emergency medical service, was reported missing after failing to report for his shift.

Search efforts intensified immediately, with police deploying aerial support, including a Eurocopter helicopter, to scan the surrounding terrain. Despite locating the vehicle, no trace of Sadauskas has been found as of Tuesday afternoon.

“We are deploying all available resources,” said a police representative. “We are coordinating with emergency services and urging anyone who was in the area yesterday around 10 a.m. To approach forward if they have dashcam footage or any relevant information.”

Authorities are specifically asking drivers who traveled through the Plukiai area near Gegužinė on Monday to review their recordings and contact emergency services at 112 if they observed anything unusual.

According to police bulletins, Sadauskas is approximately 6 feet tall with an athletic build, short reddish hair, and gray-blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black athletic pants, and dark green athletic shoes.

His family has appealed for public assistance, stating they have been deeply worried since his disappearance. “I’ve had a feeling all along that something wasn’t right,” his father said in a statement to local media.

Police have launched a preliminary investigation into possible unlawful detention, though no suspects have been named or detained at this time. The case remains active, with search teams continuing to comb through nearby properties and wooded areas.

Community members and fellow emergency responders have expressed shock and concern, with many sharing appeals for information on social media platforms.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Lithuanian authorities via the emergency number 112 or through official police channels.
