Latvia’s Finance Ministry announced that Deputy State Secretary for Fiscal Policy Līga Kļaviņa will represent the country at upcoming virtual meetings of the Eurogroup Working Group and the Economic and Financial Committee.
The sessions, scheduled for July 3, 2023, from 10:45 a.m. To 7:05 p.m., will be held remotely and will focus on key eurozone financial matters, including the Eurogroup’s report on fiscal orientation, the Commission’s assessment of inflation’s impact on public finances, and preparations for the Eurogroup summit.
Discussions will too cover the international role of the euro, a progress report on the digital euro initiative, and procedural arrangements for the expanded Eurogroup format ahead of the July summit on capital markets.
The subsequent Economic and Financial Committee meeting will address in-depth reports on macroeconomic imbalances under the MIP framework, draft Council conclusions, and a presentation on the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP).
the committee will review financial support for Ukraine in connection with the mid-term evaluation of the Multiannual Financial Framework.
