The Edmonton Oilers are bolstering their goaltending as they navigate a challenging season.
On Friday, the team acquired veteran netminder Tristan Jarry from the Pittsburgh Penguins, along with forward Samuel Poulin.
In exchange for Jarry and Poulin, the Oilers sent goaltender Stuart Skinner, defenseman Brett Kulak, and a second-round pick in the 2029 draft.

Jarry has posted a 9-3-1 record this season with a .909 save percentage and a 2.66 goals-against average.
The 30-year-old was placed on waivers in January after a rocky start to the season, going 8-8-4 with an .886 save percentage and a 3.31 GAA. He was then reassigned to the American Hockey League before returning to the Penguins and finishing the year with a 16-12-6 record, a .893 save percentage, and a 3.12 GAA.
Jarry is currently in the third year of a five-year, $26.88 million contract with an average annual value of $5.38 million.
The Oilers have struggled in net this season, with Skinner and Calvin Pickard combining for a .879 save percentage in 31 games. Despite their goaltending woes, the 2023 and 2024 Stanley Cup finalists currently hold the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference with a 14-11-6 record.
Skinner is 11-8-4 this season with a .891 save percentage and a 2.83 goals-against average.
The 27-year-old helped lead the Oilers to back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals appearances, but the team fell short against the Florida Panthers in both championship series.
Oilers Add Depth
Edmonton also announced a separate trade, acquiring defenseman Spencer Stastney from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a third-round pick in 2027, according to reports.
The 24-year-old defenseman has one goal and nine points in 30 games with the Predators this season.
