Cairo – A private screening of the new biographical film “The Six,” focused on the life of iconic Egyptian singer Um Kulthum, drew a supportive crowd Tuesday evening, including members of the singer’s family attending alongside some of Egypt’s most prominent actors.The film, directed by Marwan Hamed and starring Mona Zaki, has been generating considerable buzz ahead of its wider release, promising a fresh look into the life of the revered artist who remains a cultural touchstone across the Arab world. Family members present lauded the film’s emotional impact and artistry, signaling a positive reception from those closest too the subject matter.
Family members of the legendary Um Kulthum, including descendants of her sister, attended a special screening of the new film “The Six” alongside a host of stars. The event drew prominent figures such as Mona Zaki and Ahmed Helmy, who offered strong support, as well as Kinda Alloush and Amr Youssef, among others.
Representing Um Kulthum’s family was her great-granddaughter, Habiba Azab, along with great-grandchildren Nadine El Desouky, Dina El Desouky, Sherine El Desouky, Nermin El Desouky, Khaled El Desouky, and his wife, Nermin Salama.
