Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Oppo is preparing to launch a new smartphone series targeting the mid-range market in Indonesia. The Oppo Reno 15 series will include three models: the Reno 15 F, Reno 15, and Reno 15 Pro Max.

During a hands-on session with media, Oppo Indonesia revealed limited details about the new phones, but did showcase their design, which incorporates the Oppo Glow aesthetic.

“This makes the phones resistant to dirt and fingerprints. Even without a case, fingerprints won’t stick to the surface,” said Oppo Indonesia Product Manager, Deni Setiawan, in Jakarta on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

The new Oppo devices feature designs inspired by the aurora borealis, with the company stating that the aurora symbolizes beauty and wonder. This design choice reflects a broader trend in smartphone aesthetics toward more visually striking and nature-inspired finishes.

The Reno 15F will be available in Aurora Blue, Twilight Blue, and Afterglow Pink. The Reno 15 5G will come in Aurora White and Twilight Blue, while the Reno 15 Pro Max will be offered in Auro Gold and Dust Brown.

The standard Reno 15 model utilizes an aerospace-grade aluminum metal frame and AG Glass, resulting in a matte finish that is scratch-resistant.

CNBC Indonesia had the opportunity to handle all three Reno 15 models. During the hands-on experience, the backs of the phones proved to be non-slip, and fingerprint marks were minimized even after prolonged use.

The phones feature curved edges on all sides, and their size is compact enough to be comfortably held and operated with one hand.

Regarding the display, Oppo revealed the thinness of the bezels. The Reno 15 boasts extremely narrow bezels, measuring 1.67 mm on the right and left sides, 1.73 mm at the top, and 2.31 mm at the bottom. The Reno 15 Pro has even slimmer bezels, measuring just 1.15 mm.

On the camera front, the devices feature a 50 MP front-facing lens with a 100-degree wide-angle field of view – equivalent to a 0.6x zoom, commonly found on rear cameras.

This wide-angle lens is designed to facilitate group selfies while maintaining a broader background and minimizing distortion. Oppo is also introducing a “popout” feature, allowing users to emphasize objects within an image.

“Users can create a photo or motion photo by collaging multiple photos together, and then ‘popout’ an object by cropping it and making it stand out,” Setiawan explained.
