Police Vehicle Crash in Gildeskål: Officers Uninjured, Investigation Launched

A police vehicle responding to an active call was involved in a single-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Gildeskål, Norway [[1]]. An examination has been launched by the Special Unit for Police Matters as the patrol vehicle was en route to another assignment.

A police vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle accident in northern Norway on Tuesday, authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 2:08 PM local time in Gildeskål, within the Nordland police district. While the vehicle sustained damage, no injuries to the officers involved have been reported.

“At 2:08 PM, one of our vehicles was involved in a single-vehicle accident,” said Ina Kristin Selfors. “There were two people in the vehicle, and no personal injuries have been reported at this time.”

Police confirmed to Nettavisen that the vehicle was an emergency response unit, described as a “heavy vehicle.”

“It is a heavy vehicle,” they stated.

According to police, the patrol was en route to another assignment when the accident took place.

“The vehicle struck a rock face, spun around, and collided with a guardrail before coming to rest in the roadway,” authorities said.

Although the officers were unharmed, they were transported to a hospital for further evaluation as a precaution, Nettavisen reported.

A tow truck has been dispatched to the scene to recover the vehicle.

Police stated that the Special Unit for Police Matters has been notified, and an investigation has been launched.
