Racing Club has secured Matko Miljevic from Huracán, adding a key piece to their squad as they prepare for the upcoming season. The Argentine club confirmed the transfer after a day of negotiations.

The deal appeared to be in jeopardy earlier in the day, but representatives from both clubs reconvened and reached an agreement. The sticking point had been the payment structure, which Huracán sought to adjust.

Ultimately, the transfer will see Racing pay $3 million for 80% of Miljevic’s rights, with the payment to be made in installments. A key phone call between the presidents of Racing, Diego Milito, and Huracán, Abel Poza, proved decisive in finalizing the agreement.

Miljevic is expected to undergo a medical examination in the coming hours before joining his new teammates at the pre-season training camp in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.
