Pine Bluff Reporter Named Volunteer of the Year for Duck Calling Contest

Eplunus Colvin, a reporter, has been named the 2025 Volunteer of the Year for the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest and the Wings Over the Prairie Festival, an honor recognizing her decade of dedication to the popular Arkansas event.

The announcement was made yesterday, recognizing Colvin’s work in broadcasting the festival live and documenting the event’s spirit. Bethany Hildebrand, President and CEO of the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, expressed immense gratitude for Colvin’s contributions, stating she “works tirelessly…often putting in grueling seven-hour shifts without a break.” The festival, which draws thousands annually, relies heavily on volunteer support to operate smoothly.

Colvin, who has volunteered since 2015, is praised for her “technical expertise, sharp attention to detail, and cheerful presence,” making the event accessible to a global audience. “I am just speechless and so incredibly honored,” Colvin said. “Anyone who knows me knows that my passion is capturing moments, because it’s in those moments that we can relive those precious memories.” You can learn more about the history of duck calling here.

The 90th Annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest and Wings Over the Prairie Festival is scheduled for November 28-29 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, spanning six city blocks on Main Street. Hildebrand emphasized Colvin’s invaluable contributions, stating, “The festival simply wouldn’t be the same without her volunteer spirit.” Find details about the festival on the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce website.
