Roboquest VR Launching November 20 on Steam and PlayStation VR2

The fast-paced, roguelite action shooter Roboquest is coming to virtual reality, with a launch scheduled for November 20 on Steam and PlayStation VR2, and a Quest version planned for early 2026.

Originally a PC title from RyseUp Studios, Roboquest VR has been “fully rebuilt for VR” by Flat2VR Studios, featuring new mechanics like manual reloading and interactive weapon handling. Players will take on the role of a Guardian battling mechanical enemies in dynamically generated environments, navigating intense bullet-hell combat. The game’s comic book-inspired art style translates well to the immersive VR experience, offering a fresh take on the roguelite genre.

The PlayStation VR2 version will also include exclusive features such as adaptive trigger support, controller haptics, headset rumble, and eye-tracked foveated rendering, enhancing the sense of presence and immersion. While co-op support isn’t available at launch, Flat2VR Studios confirmed it will arrive in an update in early 2026. This release is part of a larger wave of VR content coming to PlayStation, demonstrating Sony’s continued investment in the platform – you can learn more about PlayStation’s VR initiatives on their official blog.

The launch of Roboquest VR is anticipated to draw players seeking a challenging and replayable VR experience, potentially expanding the audience for roguelite shooters in virtual reality. Flat2VR Studios announced the release date during a livestream event, alongside updates for other VR titles like RAGER. Officials stated that further updates will be provided as the Quest release date approaches.

Roboquest VR brings the roguelite action shooter to Steam and PlayStation VR2 later this month, followed by Quest next year.

Originally developed by RyseUp Studios, Roboquest originally launched two years ago as a flatscreen PC game, and we’ve been anticipating Roboquest VR ever since our preview in March. Playing as a Guardian, this FPS roguelite with a comic book-inspired art style sees you taking down mechanical foes across randomly generated environments while navigating bullet hell battles. Now, we’ve learned it’s launching later this month.

As seen on PlayStation Blog, Flat2VR Studios confirmed this upcoming adaptation has been “fully rebuilt for VR” with new features including manual reloading and interactive weapon handling. Co-op support will arrive in a future update in early 2026, while other PS VR2-specific features include adaptive trigger support, controller haptics, headset rumble, and eye-tracked foveated rendering.

It’s one of today’s five major announcements from Flat2VR Studios, which has been hosting a PlayStation VR2-focused livestream via PSVR2 Without Parole. Other announcements include a surprise launch for VRacer Hoverbike on Sony’s headset, PS VR2 release dates for Audio Trip and Shadowgate VR later this month, plus updates on Out of Sight VR and RAGER.

Roboquest VR is out on November 20 for Steam and PlayStation VR2, while the Quest version will launch in early 2026.
