Ördög Nóra asked the contestant to leave the kitchen.
Another contestant on the Hungarian cooking competition Séfek séfe required medical attention this week, adding to a string of health scares on the show. On Thursday evening’s episode, Mikula Patrik was rushed to the hospital after falling ill during the challenge. He experienced dizziness and a sudden feeling of weakness, prompting medical staff to be called.
“I was exceptionally scared because I’ve had a serious medical history,” Mikula explained, according to reports. “I was previously diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that required surgery because it was life-threatening.” He was examined at the hospital’s emergency room and cleared to return to the competition the following day.
However, the medical issues continued on Friday. During the announcement of the day’s task, another contestant, Piró, began to feel unwell, experiencing numbness in her hand. Fellow competitors alerted host Ördög Nóra, and despite initial reluctance, Piró was attended to by the medical team.
“At first, I didn’t want to say how badly I was feeling. But unfortunately, I had to, because I was getting worse.”
– Piró stated. Her blood pressure was measured at over 200 Hgmm, leading chef Frigyes Vomberg to insist she rest and that the team continue with only three members. Despite support from her teammates, the situation was clearly upsetting.
“Unfortunately, I had to decide that I couldn’t participate in the team cooking. I really wanted to, because I didn’t want to let them down, but I know how strong they are, and I know they’ll do it.”
As Ördög Nóra asked the departing Piró to leave the kitchen, Palkó, a member of the black team, commented:
“I consider it’s a bit trivial that someone gets sick every day. I don’t even know how this can happen, that someone always has something wrong with them.”
Piró was spared elimination thanks to the chefs’ generosity, and was instead swapped with another contestant, Sova, who was on the verge of being eliminated.
