Norwegian reality television competition Skal vi danse (Shall We Dance) continued its tenth season with Saturday’s dress rehearsal and program 10, featuring standout performances from comedian Viggo Venn and judge Jan Thomas. The evening saw emotional reactions and scores from the panel, as contestants vie for the coveted trophy.

This weekend on “Shall We Dance,” the theme is “icons.” The five remaining contestants will pay tribute to both iconic dancers and individuals who hold personal significance for them.

As the evening progresses, one couple will be eliminated, leaving just two weeks until the December 20 finale. TV 2 recently revealed that the finale will feature three couples competing against each other – a format that’s only happened twice in the show’s nearly 20-year history.

This unique finale format promises a thrilling conclusion to the season, raising the stakes for the remaining dancers.

Choi Moved to Tears

Each of the contestants will perform two dances: one honoring a personal icon, and another celebrating an icon from film or music history.

This means all four couples advancing tonight will automatically secure a spot in next week’s semi-finals.

Subjekt editor Danby Choi was the first to take the floor Saturday night, dedicating his performance to his friend and social commentator Shabana Rehman, who passed away from cancer in 2022 at the age of 46.

Choi was visibly emotional, breaking down in tears after his dance as Rehman’s family, who were in attendance, paid tribute to him.

He received a score of 36 for his tango.
