Tesla Faces Increased Competition in Europe
Industry experts suggest Tesla is responding to growing pressure from competitors in the European market with the launch of the Standard Long Range model this year.
“In Europe, Tesla is starting to feel strong pressure on the upper segment of the Model Y range with the launch of new models such as the BMW iX3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC EV,” according to reports.
“In the lower segment, the pressure comes from Chinese car manufacturers. Tesla appears to have felt the need to add a more affordable model with a greater range,” elektrek.co noted following the European rollout of the Y Standard Long Range. The move signals Tesla’s attempt to maintain market share amid intensifying competition.
