DreamWorks’ *The Prince of Egypt* Musical to Close CASA 0101 Theater’s 25th Anniversary Season
Los Angeles, CA – CASA 0101 Theater will conclude its 25th anniversary season with a production of DreamWorks’ *The Prince of Egypt: The Musical*, running November 22 through December 21 in the NoHo Arts District.
The epic musical, directed by Rigo Tejeda and starring Diego Huerta-Gutierrez as Moses and Christopher J. Thumé as Ramses, will feature a cast of 22 actors. Based on the Book of Exodus and featuring songs from the beloved 1998 animated film, the production aims to deliver a Broadway-caliber experience in an intimate setting. This production is particularly significant as CASA 0101 has become a vital cultural hub for Los Angeles’ East Side.
Founding Artistic Director Josefina López expressed her pride in reaching this milestone, stating, “My dream of starting my own theater 25 years ago has flourished successfully over the years to bring us to this point where we are presenting one of the most epic stories of all time on our stage. I am so proud of our artistic work and overjoyed.” Producer Emmanuel Deleague added, “This production will amaze audiences… But beyond the spectacle of this production, the story is what matters, locating your moral compass and having the courage to act in the face of adversity and fear.” The production will also showcase over 60 costumes designed by Tony Iniguez, known for his work on RuPaul’s Drag Race and other high-profile projects.
Concurrent with the musical, CASA 0101 will host a free art exhibit, “Always Running,” featuring the photography of former Los Angeles Poet Laureate Luis J. Rodriguez.
