LA Creative Agency’s New Office Space Transforms Former Artist Studio

Los Angeles-based design studio 22RE has completed the conversion of a former artist’s studio into a vibrant, residentially-inspired workplace for LA creative agency Day Job. The 1,800-square-foot building, located in Glassell Park, was formerly the studio of renowned artist Ed Ruscha and is slated for completion in 2025.

The newly designed office features an austere monolithic exterior clad in locally sourced Douglas fir and stucco. Dean Levin served as the lead architect on the project, transforming the space to meet the needs of a modern creative team. This conversion highlights a growing trend of repurposing existing structures to address the demand for unique and inspiring work environments.

The design prioritizes a blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, aiming to foster a collaborative and productive atmosphere for Day Job’s team. The project demonstrates a commitment to sustainable building practices through the use of locally sourced materials, aligning with broader efforts to reduce the environmental impact of construction. Officials stated the completion of the office space is expected to contribute to the revitalization of the Glassell Park neighborhood, attracting further creative businesses to the area. Further details on 22RE’s portfolio and design philosophy can be found on their website.
