A truck and passenger vehicle collided Sunday evening on a highway in Trøndelag
county, Norway, prompting a temporary lane closure.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. local time on County Road 17 near
Dyrstadberga, according to police reports. The road closure caused traffic
disruptions in the area.

Authorities initially reported no apparent injuries. “There is likely no
personal injury,” said operations leader Trond Hangaas of the Trøndelag
police district.

The northbound lane of County Road 17 was closed immediately following the
crash, police stated.

“Police and ambulance are en route to the scene,” Hangaas added.

Approximately 15 minutes later, police provided an update on the situation.

“Police are on the scene. Work is underway to move a vehicle to restore
normal traffic flow,” Hangaas said.

By 11:20 p.m., the Norwegian Public Roads Administration warned that the road
could be closed intermittently to facilitate the removal of the vehicles.

Police later announced they had left the location.

“We have left the scene. The truck has not yet been recovered, but other
traffic can pass,” Hangaas confirmed.

Hangaas explained that the truck’s trailer had swerved, causing it to strike
the oncoming car on its side. He reiterated that no injuries were reported
as a result of the collision. The incident is now under investigation, and
police have opened a case file.
