The former First Lady addressed the situation in a recent podcast appearance, offering a glimpse into her emotional state and her perspective on public perception.

During the conversation, podcast host Arlene Dickinson remarked on Grégoire Trudeau’s composure amidst the evolving dynamics, noting her ability to maintain grace. Grégoire Trudeau acknowledged the impact of personal events, stating, “As you know, we are human beings and things affect us. That’s normal.”

She also pushed back against being labeled an “single mother,” clarifying, “I am certainly not a single mother. I have a partnership with a father who loves his children deeply and is very involved in their lives.”

Justin Trudeau and Grégoire Trudeau announced their separation in August 2023, after 18 years of marriage and three children together. The news sent ripples through Canadian media and sparked international interest, given the family’s high profile.

In September, photos surfaced of Trudeau and Perry appearing close, fueling speculation about a romantic connection. The pair later confirmed their relationship after being photographed holding hands at a Paris club in October, coinciding with Perry’s birthday.

Grégoire Trudeau emphasized her agency in navigating the public attention, saying, “I am fully aware that many public things can be triggers,” and adding, “What I do is my decision. The woman I want to become through this is my decision.”

She continued, “I will allow myself to be disappointed by someone, I will allow myself to be angry and sad. I know for sure the importance of feeling those feelings as an advocate for mental health.”
