Russian strikes injured nine people across Ukraine’s Kharkiv region early Saturday, as air raid alerts sounded nationwide.
Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov reported seven injuries within the city itself, and indicated that people remained trapped under the rubble of a damaged residential building. “The search and rescue operation is underway,” he wrote on Telegram. The attacks come as Russia continues its offensive, raising concerns about the safety of civilians in frontline areas.
Oleg Synegoubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, stated that three of those injured – including an 11-year-traditional child – were hospitalized, whereas others received treatment on site.
In Chuhuiv, also in the Kharkiv region, Mayor Galyna Minaeva reported on Telegram that two people were injured in an “enemy drone attack” targeting a house in the city center.
