Budapest – A scheduled NB II match between Vasas adn Honvéd was overshadowed Monday after a home supporter suffered a serious head injury prior to kickoff. The incident, which occurred approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled start, prompted immediate medical intervention from team staff and a speedy response from attending paramedics. While the match proceeded with honvéd securing a 2-1 victory, concerns remain regarding the injured supporter who was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation, according to initial reports.

A dramatic scene unfolded before kickoff of the NB II match between Vasas and Honvéd on Monday, as a home supporter suffered a serious head injury in the stands. According to reports, the fan collapsed headfirst near the press box approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled start, requiring immediate medical attention.

Quick action was taken as Buda Lajtaváry, a physiotherapist with Honvéd’s medical staff and formerly with Vasas, rushed to provide initial aid. Remarkably, a Honvéd supporter was the first to assist the injured fan before paramedics arrived on the scene.

The supporter was diagnosed with a deep head wound and was transported from the stadium on a stretcher with a neck brace for further medical evaluation.

Reports indicate that Honvéd ultimately won the match 2-1, securing a valuable three points in the league standings.

“It was a very good atmosphere, I think at a first-class level, both in terms of the game and the support,” said Vasas head coach Erős Gábor after the match. “Unfortunately, Honvéd took the three points, which is very painful for us. I hope we lost the battle, and we will win the war in the end.”

Honvéd manager Feczkó Tamás expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance.

“I work with fantastic people day in and day out. Today they proved that no matter how many players fall out, or how young a player has to play, we are a team, we are one heart, and with such support behind us, I say that the only thing possible is victory in any match,” he stated.
