Samsung has clarified why it no longer produces compact flagship smartphones, addressing one of the most frequently asked questions from consumers.
During an online Ask Me Anything session, Annika Bizon, Vice President for Products and Marketing in Samsung’s Mobile Experience division, explained that the decision is not driven by technical limitations but by user preferences.
According to Bizon, the size of current smartphones reflects the dominant market demand, with consumers choosing larger screens and the company adapting its strategy accordingly.
While compact models are no longer part of the main product lineup, Samsung emphasized that it has not entirely overlooked this segment. For users who prefer easier-to-handle devices, the company points to the Galaxy Z Flip series as an alternative.
These foldable models offer a compact form when closed while maintaining a generous display during use, aiming to combine portability with a modern smartphone experience.
The discussion similarly covered other significant topics, including the role of artificial intelligence in future devices. Samsung stated that Galaxy AI features are optional and can be activated or deactivated by users based on their preferences.
Looking ahead, the company envisions these technologies becoming invisible in daily use, seamlessly integrating into everyday experiences.
