Vulvodynia Vocalist Zion Bittenbender Leaves Tour Amid Allegations

Vulvodynia vocalist Zion Bittenbender is returning home from the band’s current Asia tour to address recent allegations, with guitarist Lwandile Prusent stepping in as vocalist for the remainder of 2025.

The South African deathcore band announced today, November 8, 2025, that Bittenbender will be focusing on handling the allegations “through the appropriate legal channels.” The decision comes just days after Bittenbender was named the band’s frontman, following a period of instability in the vocalist position. This latest development adds to a pattern of turmoil within the band regarding its lead singer.

According to an official statement released by Vulvodynia, “After careful discussion, Zion will be returning home… to focus on addressing these matters through the appropriate legal channels. Handling this responsibly would be extremely difficult while continuing to tour internationally, so this decision has been made in everyone’s best interests.” Prusent previously served as the band’s vocalist before a violent altercation led to the departure of former frontman Duncan Bentley, as reported by Revolver Magazine.

The band assured fans that their touring commitments will be fulfilled, stating that Prusent will resume vocal duties for the rest of the year. Vulvodynia is currently on tour in Asia, and further updates will be provided as the situation develops. You can find more information about the band and their tour dates on their official website.

Vulvodynia stated they appreciate everyone’s understanding and support while this situation is handled “properly and respectfully.”
