Jukebox Expands into Venture Capital with $15 Million Fund

UK-based Jukebox, a public relations and artist management firm, today announced the launch of Jukebox Ventures and its inaugural $15 million investment fund focused on the intersection of music, technology, and culture.

Fund I will target early-stage startups, from pre-seed to Series A, concentrating on areas like rights and licensing, creator tools, streaming, music education technology, and immersive media. This move addresses a noted gap in funding for early-stage music tech companies, with less than 10% of venture capital deals occurring before Series A, according to Jukebox. The company, founded in 2008, has established itself as a key player in the dance music and entertainment industries, and this expansion signals a growing trend of PR firms diversifying into investment.

Leading Jukebox Ventures are Co-Founder and General Partner Alex Jukes, General Partner and Head of Investor Relations Christian Lawrence (Senior Market Strategist at Rabobank), Operating Partner Kevin Caballes (Head of Operations at Sorella Labs), and Partner & Head of Trading Anthony Trotta (founder of Vernon Capital). An advisory board has also been established, including DJ HOSH, PIXELYNX CEO Inder Phull, and Beatport Media Group SVP Ed Hill. “This fund is about more than capital. It’s about giving startups a cultural edge and LPs a front-row seat to innovation across music and entertainment,” said Jukes. For more on venture capital trends, see NFX.

Jukebox has a history of working with over 350 festivals in 40+ countries and boasts a media network reaching over 40 million followers. The company plans to leverage this experience and network to provide strategic guidance and marketing support to its portfolio companies. You can learn more about Jukebox’s services here.

Jukebox Ventures is currently raising capital for Fund I and will begin deploying investments in the coming months, according to officials.
