As Sweden’s aging population grows, so too does the prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease, a condition impacting an estimated 100,000 or more individuals nationwide[[1]].Recognizing the profound effect of this neurodegenerative illness – often described as a “family disease” – researchers are working to improve both diagnostics and support systems[[2]]. in a new opportunity for public engagement, neurologist and Karolinska Institutet professor Miia Kivipelto will address the latest advancements in Alzheimer’s research and offer guidance for families navigating the challenges of this disease[[3]].

At least 100,000 people in Sweden are estimated to have Alzheimer’s disease, and the actual number is believed to be significantly higher.
