Newark Light Rail to Alter Platform Access at Three Stations This Week
Newark Light Rail will temporarily shift train arrivals to outbound platforms at Park Avenue, Orange Street, and Norfolk Street stations daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, impacting commuters throughout the week.
Beginning today, November 6, 2025, all trains will arrive on the outbound platforms at the three specified stations, while inbound platforms will be closed during the designated hours. Passengers are advised to carefully check destination signs before boarding to ensure they are heading in the correct direction and to allow for potential extra travel time. This temporary change is being implemented to facilitate enhancements to the Newark Light Rail system, a key component of the region’s public transportation network.
Normal Saturday and Sunday schedules will remain in effect, with no platform alterations planned for the weekend.
