Capitals’ Dylan Strome Exits Game with Lower-Body Injury

Washington Capitals center Dylan Strome left Saturday night’s game against the Ottawa Senators with a lower-body injury and did not return after a brief attempt to play through the pain.

The injury occurred 3:34 into the first period when Strome was tripped by Senators defenseman Artem Zub and collided with both Jakob Chychrun and the boards. He required assistance from teammates to leave the ice and appeared to favor his left leg. Strome managed two shifts after initially leaving the game before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest, ending a five-game point streak where he recorded 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists).

Following the game, Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery offered a limited update on Strome’s condition. “Missed the game,” Carbery said. “We’ll evaluate him tomorrow. Concerning, but I’d be guessing if I said anything about him.” The Capitals currently hold the third-best record in the NHL standings, and losing a key player like Strome could impact their playoff positioning.

Further evaluation is planned for Strome on Sunday to determine the severity of the injury. The Capitals have not yet announced a timeline for his return. You can find more information about player injuries at ESPN’s NHL injury report.
