Homeless Man Fatally Stabbed in Downtown Los Angeles Identified as Chad Hicks

A 48-year-old man experiencing homelessness was identified today as the victim of a fatal stabbing near downtown Los Angeles, prompting a homicide investigation.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the victim was Chad Hicks, who died from multiple stab wounds to the neck. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at approximately 10:03 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of South Hooper Avenue, near East 15th Street, and found Hicks suffering from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is being handled by officers from the LAPD’s Newton Division, and authorities are actively seeking information regarding the circumstances surrounding the attack.
