Ducks Rally to Defeat Stars 7-5, Extend Winning Streak to Five

Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson scored the game-winning goal shorthanded in the third period yesterday, propelling his team to a 7-5 victory over the Dallas Stars.

Carlsson’s slap shot at 10:38 of the third gave the Ducks a 6-4 lead, assisted by Troy Terry. Chris Kreider scored twice, with additional goals from Cutter Gauthier, Olen Zellweger, Ian Moore, and a late empty-netter from Mason McTavish, securing Anaheim’s fifth consecutive win and their seventh victory in eight games. Goaltender Lukas Dostal recorded 21 saves for the Ducks. This win significantly boosts Anaheim’s position in a competitive Western Conference.

The Stars, despite goals from Wyatt Johnston (two power-play goals), Roope Hintz, Tyler Seguin, and Mikko Rantanen, saw their seven-game points streak come to an end. Miro Heiskanen contributed four assists, while Jake Oettinger stopped 18 shots. Dallas had initially built a 2-0 lead after the first period, but Anaheim responded with a dominant four-goal second period, highlighted by Zellweger’s power-play goal at 17:05 to take a 4-3 advantage.
