Renault Trucks is reporting a significant acceleration in the adoption of zero-emission heavy transport, marking 2025 as a record-breaking year for the company’s electric vehicle division. According to data released on April 14, 2026, the company’s electric lineup is seeing strong momentum, with projections suggesting that 2026 could further surpass these milestones.
The company’s industrial vehicle performance for 2025 totaled 55,011 units sold. Within this portfolio, 2,612 vehicles were fully electric. This performance underscores a strategic shift in logistics, where sustainable transport is transitioning from a speculative venture to a scalable commercial reality across Europe.
The growth was primarily driven by the light commercial vehicle segment, which saw a massive 190% increase over the previous year, accounting for 1,812 of the total electric registrations. This surge highlights the rapid electrification of last-mile delivery and urban logistics.
Conversely, the medium and heavy-duty electric truck segment faced headwinds. These vehicles represented 800 of the total electric registrations, reflecting a 20% decline compared to the same period in 2024. This disparity suggests that while light-duty electrification is accelerating, the transition for heavier tonnage remains more complex.
Despite a broader industry slowdown in electric vehicle sales throughout the year, Renault Trucks has managed to deliver a healthy set of figures. The company’s ability to maintain growth in a challenging macroeconomic environment reflects the increasing demand for decarbonized transport solutions in the European industrial sector.
