Epic Games Store is expanding its free game offerings in March 2026, with a new pair of titles set to become available on March 12. Alongside the current free games, My Night Job and Boxes: Lost Fragments, which were available until March 5, the store has revealed its next giveaway.
The upcoming freebies include Isonzo, a realistic World War I shooter, and Cozy Grove, a narrative-driven, relaxing experience. This pairing offers a diverse selection for players, reflecting the growing trend of free-to-play options on PC gaming platforms.
Isonzo, released in 2022, immerses players in intense battles set against the backdrop of Italy’s mountainous landscapes. Developed by BlackMill Games, the same studio behind Tannenberg and Verdun, Isonzo distinguishes itself with unique vertical maps, avalanches, and climbing mechanics that add a strategic layer to gameplay. The game supports matches with up to 48 players, features six different classes, and offers over 50 historical weapons for customization. It currently holds an 86% positive rating on Steam, based on over 7,600 reviews, and typically retails for $29.99.
While praised for its realism, Isonzo may present a challenge for newcomers due to a lack of robust tutorials. Matches can too be lengthy, sometimes exceeding 30 minutes, which may not appeal to players seeking quick gaming sessions.
Cozy Grove is the second upcoming PC free game on the Epic Games Store
Complementing the intensity of Isonzo, Cozy Grove offers a more tranquil experience. Released in 2021, the game places players on a haunted island where they assist ghostly bears and restore color and life to the environment. Featuring hand-drawn, dynamic landscapes, Cozy Grove’s environment evolves as players befriend spirits and progress through a 40+ hour campaign that is synchronized with real-world time.
The game shares similarities with Animal Crossing but incorporates a spooky element and narrative twists. Cozy Grove typically sells for $14.99 and boasts a 90% positive rating on Steam, with over 3,700 reviews. However, players should be aware that the game’s quests can become repetitive, and time limits may restrict extended play sessions.
