A new artificial intelligence tool called Gamma automates the creation of presentations and websites, requiring no prior design or coding experience.
The platform is currently available for free via its website, eliminating the need for additional downloads or application installations.
Gamma’s core functionality lies in its ability to rapidly generate visually appealing content from minimal user input. This development reflects a growing trend of AI-powered tools democratizing access to professional-quality design and web development.
Users can access Gamma and begin creating presentations or websites by visiting gamma.app and completing the sign-up process.
While a free version is available, it includes limitations on the number of pages within created presentations or websites. Despite these restrictions, initial testing indicates Gamma can produce polished and detailed slides and webpages suitable for a wide range of applications.
Gamma offers two primary modes of operation:
1. Manual Creation: This approach functions similarly to established design platforms like Canva or Microsoft PowerPoint, allowing users to build presentations, documents, or websites from scratch with AI-assisted features for enhanced aesthetics.
This mode is ideal for users who prioritize creative control and customization while still benefiting from AI-powered enhancements.
2. AI-Powered Creation: This is Gamma’s standout feature, enabling users to automatically generate presentations, documents, or websites in a matter of minutes with just a few clicks.
The primary input required from the user is the content itself. Gamma’s AI then handles the design and layout, delivering a ready-to-use product.
This approach is particularly well-suited for marketers seeking to quickly create pitch decks or product presentations.
– Using Gamma to Create Presentations and Websites
After logging in, users should click the “+ Create New AI” button.
1. This presents four options:
– Paste in Text: Create a presentation or website using pre-prepared content.
– Generate: Generate a presentation or website on a specific topic by providing a short prompt, allowing the AI to source information automatically.
– Import File or URL: Upload an existing document or presentation, and Gamma’s AI will refine and enhance its visual appeal.
– Remix a Template: Customize pre-designed templates for presentations.
While all options are viable, the “Paste in Text” method is recommended for ensuring accuracy and alignment with specific content requirements.
2. Selecting “Paste in Text” reveals a large text box where users can paste their content.
Users can then specify the desired output type: Presentation, Webpage, Document, or Social media content. Selecting “Presentation” will initiate the creation of a slide deck.
Gamma also offers options for how to utilize the pasted content:
– Use key talking points and allow the AI to supplement with additional information.
– Summarize or condense the content, focusing on essential details.
– Utilize all provided content without modification.
To separate content into individual slides, users should delineate sections with “—”.
3. Click “Continue to Prompt Editor”.
The Prompt Editor offers further customization options via the settings menu on the left side of the screen, including:
– Refining the data used in the presentation and adjusting content length.
– Selecting the desired language for the presentation, with automatic translation capabilities (e.g., from Thai to English).
– Choosing a design theme: Dark, Light, Professional, or Colorful.
– Selecting image sources: automatic selection by Gamma, specific stock photo websites, internet searches, AI-generated images, or no images at all.
4. Once settings are configured, click “Generate” to initiate the automated presentation creation process, which typically takes around one minute depending on the content volume.
The resulting presentation will be displayed, allowing for further editing and customization. Users can modify text, adjust font sizes, rearrange layouts, and replace images as needed.
5. After completing edits, click “Present” in the upper right corner to begin the presentation. Alternatively, users can share a link for collaborative editing or viewing, or export the presentation in formats such as PDF, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or PNG images.
Notably, when downloading the presentation, Gamma recommends downloading the fonts used to ensure consistent display.
This allows users to leverage the power of AI to create visually compelling presentations with ease.
It’s important to note that while Gamma offers a free tier, certain features and usage limits are reserved for paid subscribers, including a limited number of credits for free users.
