Turkey Issues Arrest Warrants for Israeli Officials Over Alleged Gaza Genocide
Istanbul, Turkey – Today, November 7, 2025, 19:49:00, Turkish authorities issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several senior government officials, accusing them of genocide and crimes against humanity related to Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The Istanbul prosecutor’s office stated that 37 suspects are listed in the warrants, including Defence Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Army Chief Lt Gen Eyal Zamir. The warrants allege that Israel has “perpetrated systematically” genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza, and specifically reference the bombing in March of the Turkish-Palestinian friendship hospital, built by Turkey in the Gaza Strip. This action significantly escalates tensions between the two nations.
Israel swiftly denounced the warrants as a “PR stunt.” Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated on X, “Israel firmly rejects, with contempt, the latest PR stunt by the tyrant [president Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan.” Turkey previously joined South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of genocide. A fragile ceasefire has been in effect in Gaza since October 10th as part of Donald Trump’s regional peace plan, though its long-term viability remains uncertain. Israeli officials have indicated they will not comply with the warrants, and further diplomatic repercussions are expected.
