Red, White and Blue Half Marathon to Take Place in Draper Park This Summer

Draper Park will host the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon this summer, offering a range of race distances for participants of all ages and abilities.

The event, organized by Bigfoot Running Company, will feature races including a Kids Dash, 2-mile, 4-mile, 8-mile, and a 13.1-mile half marathon. Registration is now open, with youth-based pricing available for the shorter distances – those 12 and under can participate for $15. Participants can also receive a $20 refund by referring five others, and group discounts are available. Top finishers in the 4-mile, 8-mile, and half marathon will be awarded the Bigfoot Trophy, while all participants will receive a race T-shirt, finisher medal, and chip-timed bib.

The race schedule begins with packet pickup from 5:30–6:45 AM on race day, followed by the Kids Dash at 6:55 AM and the National Anthem and race start at 7:00 AM. Volunteers are also being sought, with opportunities ranging from water station assistance to course monitoring, and even the chance to run the 4-mile race after volunteering for packet pickup. Volunteering offers benefits like a race shirt, VIP access, and a free future race entry or a digital gift card; learn more about volunteer opportunities in Oklahoma. This event is part of a growing trend of community running events that promote health and wellness.

Bigfoot Running Company emphasizes a family-friendly atmosphere, with aid stations along the course, DJ Sasquatch providing music, and awards for various age groups. The race will proceed rain or shine, and mixed course surfaces – including pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths – should be expected. Officials stated that results and awards will be available immediately after each runner finishes at the registration tent.
