Halsey Briefly Hospitalized in Boston During Tour, Returns to Stage
Halsey, 31, experienced a minor medical emergency following a concert in Boston yesterday, November 3, but is expected to continue their Back to Badlands tour as scheduled.
The singer, who uses she/they pronouns, shared a message on Instagram Stories detailing the incident, stating, “Boston I’m gonna be honest with ya, after the show last night I was in the ER till 6 this morning. Minor medical emergency but I am A-Okay now and ready to rock tonight! but if I’m pacing myself, that’s why!” Halsey also expressed gratitude to the staff at Massachusetts General Hospital, specifically naming several doctors and nurses. This incident comes as fans closely follow Halsey’s health journey.
This health scare follows Halsey’s recent revelation in September that they had undergone additional chemotherapy sessions. At that time, they disclosed a 2022 diagnosis of Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, explaining the need for a new chemo port. A chemo port, as described by the Cleveland Clinic, is a device used for easier administration of chemotherapy drugs. Lymphoproliferative disorders involve the uncontrolled production of white blood cells, and Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the body attacks its own tissues, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Halsey is currently on the Back to Badlands tour, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Badlands. They are scheduled to perform again tonight at the MGM Music Hall in Boston, and representatives have indicated they intend to proceed with all planned tour dates.
