LA Kings Announce 2025-26 Season Opening Roster

The LA Kings today unveiled their 25-player roster for the 2025-26 National Hockey League season, a mix of seasoned veterans and emerging talent poised to build on last year’s successful campaign.

The roster includes 13 forwards – Joel Armia, Quinton Byfield, Phillip Danault, Kevin Fiala, Warren Foegele, Samuel Helenius, Adrian Kempe, Anze Kopitar, Andrei Kuzmenko, Alex Laferriere, Jeff Malott, Trevor Moore and Alex Turcotte – seven defensemen – Mikey Anderson, Cody Ceci, Brandt Clarke, Drew Doughty, Brian Dumoulin, Joel Edmundson and Jacob Moverare – and two goaltenders, Anton Forsberg and Darcy Kuemper. Eighteen players on the roster skated in at least one game for the Kings last season. The team’s core of Kopitar and Doughty, entering their 20th and 18th NHL seasons respectively, will be crucial as the Kings aim to contend for another Stanley Cup.

Veteran goaltender Darcy Kuemper, last season’s Bill Libby Memorial Award winner as the Kings’ Most Valuable Player, returns after a stellar year where he finished as a Vezina Trophy finalist with a 31-11-7 record and a league-leading 2.02 goals-against average. Forward Adrian Kempe, who eclipsed the 70-point mark for the second consecutive year, will also be a key offensive driver. The Kings finished last season with a franchise record-tying 48 wins and 105 points, demonstrating their potential for continued success. New additions to the team include forward Joel Armia, defensemen Brian Dumoulin and Cody Ceci, and goaltender Anton Forsberg, bringing a combined 478 games of Stanley Cup Playoff experience. The Kings open their season tomorrow with a home game, and officials encourage fans to secure tickets for what promises to be an exciting season.
