Man Dies in Jersey City Stabbing; Person of Interest in Custody

A man was fatally stabbed in Jersey City today, October 26, 2025, and authorities have taken a person of interest into custody, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing shortly after 12:20 p.m. in the area of Jersey Avenue, 1st Street, and Maxwell Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. He was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just after 1 p.m.

The identity of the victim is currently being withheld by authorities. During the initial investigation, a person of interest was identified and apprehended; details regarding their identity have not yet been released.
