Missile Strike Hits Tel Aviv Amidst Escalating Regional Conflict
TEL AVIV / OSLO – A missile struck the Israeli city of Tel Aviv Thursday evening, following major attacks launched by the United States and Israel on Iran.
Correspondent Morten Risberg, reporting from Israel, witnessed objects in the sky above the city.
“So far, two alarms have sounded. During the first, we heard a long series of booms in the distance. The second time, you could observe the entire massive barrage heading towards Tel Aviv. I estimate it was over 50 missiles,” Risberg said, adding that he is now in a safe location.
“There was a clear sense of panic, much more so than before. People were really running for their lives,” he added.
Video from Dagbladet at the scene shows people running for cover, with one man exclaiming:
“Oh my god, oh my god.”
Reports indicated the incident was over shortly before 10:20 PM local time.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, an Iranian ballistic missile also struck a location in central Israel Thursday evening – without any air raid sirens sounding beforehand.
