Nebraska Volleyball Dominates Purdue in Straight Sets
The Nebraska volleyball team secured a decisive straight-set victory over the #12 Purdue Boilermakers yesterday, continuing their impressive winning streak and solidifying their position as a top contender in the Big Ten Conference.
The match, held in West Lafayette, Indiana, saw the Huskers defeat Purdue 25-23, 25-16, and 25-15 in a contest that was expected to be much closer. Nebraska has now won seven ranked matches this season and hasn’t dropped a set since September 16th against Creighton. The first set was tightly contested, with both teams trading points until a Bergen Reilly ace helped Nebraska pull ahead late and secure the 25-23 win.
Harper Murray led the Huskers with 16 kills and an outstanding .640 hitting percentage, while Andi Jackson added 12 kills at a .450 clip. Nebraska’s offense found its rhythm as the match progressed, hitting .333% in the second set and .400% in the third. A key adjustment saw Allie Sczech enter the match, contributing 5 kills at a .625 hitting percentage. This win is particularly significant as it demonstrates Nebraska’s ability to perform consistently on the road against challenging opponents; you can find more information about collegiate volleyball rankings at NCAA.com.
