New Fitness Facility, Asylum Fitness, Opens in Bethlehem Township
A new 25,000-square-foot fitness center, Asylum Fitness, officially opened its doors today in Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania, offering a range of amenities and programs to the Lehigh Valley community.
The facility, located at 2920 Easton Avenue, Suite 5, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house this morning after a soft launch in early October. Asylum Fitness occupies a renovated space previously home to a Maxx Fitness location. It features updated cardio and strength training equipment, a dedicated personal training area, a Zumba studio, on-site childcare, and a Community Room intended to host mentorship programs and wellness classes. Access to fitness facilities is increasingly important for public health, as studies show regular exercise can reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Founder Thamar Hewsen expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “We’re happy to introduce our latest accomplishment to the community and those who helped bring this project to fruition. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for Asylum Fitness marks the launch of a new era in Bethlehem Township.” Membership options range from CORE, starting at $44.99 per month, to VIP, starting at $99.99 per month, with varying levels of access to classes, personal training, and childcare. The facility is open seven days a week, with hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. More information about membership options can be found on the Asylum Fitness website.
Future expansion plans are contingent on an SBA loan decision, with any renovations and equipment enhancements guided by member feedback. Officials stated that all workouts and classes were free during today’s open house, and those who joined received the month of December free.
