Honda has launched a new flagship retail location in Riga, Latvia, consolidating its automotive, marine, and power equipment offerings under one roof. The opening signifies a strategic investment in the Latvian market as the Japanese automaker prepares for a wave of new product introductions and updates across its divisions. The facility, which includes a service center and customer support, aims to improve accessibility for Honda customers throughout the country, notably in regions outside the capital city[[1]]. The new center opened its doors on November 21st, with officials citing a commitment to both sales and comprehensive after-market support.

Honda has opened a new flagship retail location in the heart of Riga, Latvia, combining automotive sales with displays of its marine and power equipment lines, the company announced. The new center also features a modern service facility and customer support area.

“We are extremely pleased to unveil the new Honda home right in the center of Riga,” said Tõnu Vahtel, CEO of NCG Import Baltic, Honda’s importer, at the opening. “It’s beautiful, it has the best staff in Latvia, and Honda has a lot of trust in that.”

The opening reflects a renewed focus on the Latvian market for the Japanese automaker, which is preparing to launch a new vehicle lineup in the coming months. Vahtel indicated that existing models will also be updated, with new products planned for both the Honda Marine and Honda Power divisions. “Soon, a new line of Honda cars will arrive,” Vahtel told Latvian media. “We will also have a new Honda lawnmower robot. We have many novelties coming, so this new building suits us very well.”

Raivis Ansviesulis, a board member of SIA Absolut Auto RIGA, described the Honda brand as a “new product” in their hands, praising its reliability and relative simplicity. “The manufacturer has promised to align on both pricing policy and product diversity,” Ansviesulis confirmed. “It is in our interest to create a service center throughout Latvia. Although Riga is currently the only place to purchase Honda cars, we want people in Latgale and elsewhere to be able to repair their cars without having to travel across the country.”

Vahtel acknowledged the challenge of integrating the diverse product lines under one roof, but expressed confidence in the new concept. “In our opinion, it is a very good concept,” he said. “It is not easy to maintain because the product profiles are very different. But overall, I am convinced that it is the best Honda product concept we can achieve in Riga.”

To support the launch, a new website, www.hondacentrsriga.lv, has been launched, providing access to Honda products and services. The move comes as automakers increasingly prioritize direct-to-consumer engagement and streamlined service networks.
