Pebble Round 2: Return of the Classic Design with Improved Battery Life

Pebble is bringing back a familiar design with its latest smartwatch, opting for a round face reminiscent of the original model. The company acknowledges the previous iteration had limitations, but claims to have addressed those shortcomings in this new generation.

A key upgrade is the display: the Pebble Round 2 features a 1.3-inch color e-paper screen that now covers the entire front of the watch. This eliminates the significant bezel that characterized the original Pebble Time Round, which consumed a large portion of the watch face.

The e-paper technology remains a hallmark of the Pebble brand. The display is always-on, reflects light rather than emitting it for improved readability, and conserves battery life – a feature that initially attracted many Pebble fans.

Extended Battery Life Without Sacrificing Style

The new generation also focuses on improving battery performance. While the Pebble Time Round reportedly lasted only a few days on a single charge, the Pebble Round 2 is expected to last approximately one to two weeks, depending on usage.

Notably, this improvement was achieved without significantly increasing the size of the watch. The new model is just 8.1 millimeters thick, only slightly thicker than the original, which was once considered one of the thinnest smartwatches on the market.

For comparison, the latest Apple Watch Series 11 case measures 9.7mm thick, the Watch SE is 10.7mm, and the Watch Ultra 3 reaches 12mm.

Not Designed for Athletic Performance

Pebble Round 2 remains true to the brand’s philosophy. These aren’t full-featured sports or fitness watches, but rather a smart companion for everyday use. They include basic step and sleep tracking, as well as an accelerometer and magnetometer.

The watch also features a touchscreen, although the manufacturer emphasizes that it isn’t necessary and physical buttons still play a primary role.

Interestingly, the device includes two microphones, which will be useful for working with voice assistants or responding to messages. This feature is currently only available on Android phones, with iOS support in the European Union expected to follow.

The watch is also expected to offer a degree of water resistance, although the manufacturer currently states a target of 30 meters.

Availability and Pricing

The Pebble Round 2 is made from stainless steel and will be available in three colors – matte black, brushed silver, and polished rose gold. The strap width varies depending on the chosen variant, and the manufacturer plans for interchangeable bands with quick-release mechanisms.

The price has been set at $199 (CZK 4099). Immediately following its debut at CES 2026, the manufacturer launched pre-order options, but the Pebble Round 2 won’t be available for general sale until May of this year.

Notably, the manufacturer introduced the square-faced Pebble Time 2 model last year, which is also expected to arrive in May. Customers who pre-ordered the original model are now being offered the option to transfer their orders to the round Pebble Round 2.

However, the square model with a price tag of $225 (CZK 4600) is still planned, so the choice ultimately comes down to individual preference.
