Pedestrian Killed in Collision on Los Angeles Freeway Transition Road
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle yesterday morning on a freeway exchange near downtown Los Angeles, causing significant traffic delays.
The collision occurred at 4:33 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, on the transition road from the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway to the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Erik Larson, officers responding to the scene found the victim near the freeway divider. A white Lexus was stopped at the scene, but its involvement in the collision remains under investigation.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident prompted a Sigalert, closing lanes 1, 2, and 3 of the transition road for over three hours, impacting the morning commute for many Los Angeles residents.
