Arizona Launches AZRx Program to Lower Prescription Drug Costs

Arizona residents can now access discounted prescription medications through the newly launched AZRx program, beginning today, November 3, 2025.

The initiative, a collaboration between Governor Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Department of Health Services, utilizes the ArrayRx discount card to negotiate lower prices on essential prescriptions for all Arizonans, regardless of insurance status. The card is free and available to every resident with a valid Arizona address, with no age or income restrictions; each family member is eligible for their own card. Savings can reach up to 80% on medications, covering all FDA-approved drugs, select over-the-counter items, and diabetes supplies.

The ArrayRx card can be used at nearly 1,200 Arizona pharmacies, as well as for mail-order and specialty drugs nationwide, but cannot be combined with insurance or other discount programs. Rising prescription drug costs have been a significant burden for many families, and this program aims to alleviate that financial strain. “We are working to make critical and lifesaving medicines more affordable for Arizona families,” said Governor Hobbs. “At a time when prescription drug prices are too high, we are giving Arizonans access to lower prices. I encourage all Arizonans to sign up for a card so they can save money on their medications.” Residents can sign up for the card online and download or print it for immediate use.

Industry leaders have praised the program, with Donna Sullivan, Co-Administrator for ArrayRx, welcoming Arizona to the collaborative and highlighting the card’s security features. AARP Arizona State Director Dana Marie Kennedy called the program a “lifeline,” and Ann-Marie Alameddin, President and CEO of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, applauded the expansion of access to affordable prescriptions. The governor’s office stated they will continue to fight for the health and wellbeing of Arizonans and improve health outcomes across the state.
