Elon Football Suffers Third Consecutive CAA Loss to Maine, 35-14

The Elon University football team fell to 4-5 on the season and 2-3 in Coastal Athletic Association play today, losing 35-14 to Maine at Alfond Stadium in Orono, Maine.

Elon scored first with a 17-yard rushing touchdown by Jimmyll Williams in the first quarter, but Maine responded with 28 unanswered points. The Black Bears capitalized on a strong passing game from Carter Peavy and a pivotal punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Elon’s offense struggled, totaling a season-low 231 yards. This loss marks the third straight CAA defeat for the Phoenix, impacting their playoff hopes.

Landen Clark completed a season-high 16 passes for 128 yards and one touchdown to Isaiah Fuhrmann late in the fourth quarter, but also threw an interception and was sacked a season-high five times.
