Sandbox VR Launches Immersive Virtual Reality Experience in Downtown Sacramento

An immersive virtual reality experience, Sandbox VR, opened yesterday in Sacramento’s Downtown Commons, located just outside the Golden 1 Center.

Players at Sandbox VR wear sensors on their arms, legs, and heads to participate in a variety of virtual worlds, some inspired by popular video games and television shows. “This is the most amazing concept. You turn into a completely different avatar from head to toe and you’re playing all kinds of games,” said David Friedman, head of real estate at Sandbox VR. The company has partnered with Netflix to offer experiences based on series like “Squid Game” and “Stranger Things,” capitalizing on the upcoming release of the final season of the latter later this month.

The attraction is designed to be accessible to a wide range of ages, offering both thrilling and family-friendly options. Friedman noted, “It’s really for all ages…we’re a great place for families, we’re a great place for date night.” Groups of four to six people can participate, and reservations are currently being accepted online. The rise of immersive VR experiences like this reflects a growing trend in entertainment, offering consumers increasingly interactive and engaging options.

Officials anticipate the new venue will draw entertainment seekers, particularly those attending events at the nearby Golden 1 Center, and contribute to the vibrancy of downtown Sacramento. Visit California for more information on attractions in the area.

PLAN AND THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 5TH. WELL, A NEW ATTRACTION IS OPEN RIGHT OUTSIDE THE GOLDEN ONE CENTER. TODAY WAS RIBBON CUTTING DAY FOR SANDBOX VR.
